Underneath the Power: An Examination of Eight Qualities
What image comes to mind when you hear the words "powerful woman"? Do you see a woman who you believe has achieved success, or a woman who has fought and won a battle?
Is it the image of a woman in a powerful position that comes to mind? Do you have an image of a woman that appears to be incredibly popular?
While all of these things can conjure up visions of power, you're just seeing the end result. You're missing out on the eight fundamental underlying characteristics that have propelled these women to their position of prominence.
Many women throughout the world haven't lassoed what you and I consider success, or haven't had the chance to fight a major struggle in their life. Nonetheless, they are formidable.
What Makes a Powerful Woman?
There are a lot of women out there who work in normal, supporting jobs. They're also formidable. There are millions of ladies who do not emanate attractiveness.
Those women, however, can be just as powerful as the ones who come to mind when you think of powerful women.
Eight specific attributes characterise powerful women and serve as the foundation of their life. They live and breathe the first seven, which allow them to stay true to themselves and attain the eighth trait with ease.
When a woman possesses and practises these attributes on a regular basis, she transforms into the essence of a true, powerful woman, regardless of what her outward appearance may suggest.
1) Gives It Her All - A powerful woman will offer everything she has to the task at hand, without hesitation or complaint. For instance, a female sales clerk who generally spends her time on the floor engaging with store customers is asked by her management to perform a position she despises.
When she arrives at work one day, she is given the task of organising a stockroom, which requires moving boxes, unpacking those boxes, and arranging products on shelves in an orderly manner.
Despite the fact that she dislikes the job, she accepts it without complaining to her management or others, and she dutifully completes the project.
2) Never Gives Up - A strong woman never surrenders. Period. She pursues her goals in life and does not give up, no matter how difficult the road may be. For example, a young woman decided she wanted to be an artist and make a career from her artistic abilities.
Many roadblocks stand in her way. To put food on the table, she's had to take on other jobs.
She's so fatigued at times that she wants to quit up...but she doesn't. Day after day, month after month, and year after year, she keeps going. Negative influences are not tolerated by her.
She doesn't pay attention to people who dismiss her dream. She refuses to be distracted from her ultimate goal by others. She also has no idea what the words "I can't" imply. She never gives up on her actual dream, plain and simple. Ever.
3) Speaks Her Mind - A strong woman is not hesitant to say what she thinks. For instance, a woman is part of a group debate on how to solve a problem.
Others with more qualifications are kind with their advice, but this woman believes she has a fantastic notion of how to solve the problem much more swiftly and easily.
Despite the fact that it's difficult for her to speak, and despite the fact that she's in a room full of seasoned professionals, she opens her mouth and expresses her idea with conviction and certainty that it's the correct thing to do.
She is unconcerned about what other people think of what she says. She is unconcerned with being chastised for her beliefs. She is unconcerned about their acceptance of her concept. She expresses herself with the calm certainty that only a powerful woman can.

4) She Respects Herself and Others - In all situations, a powerful woman is courteous. Example: A married woman's coworkers invite her to a pub after work.
She doesn't feel at ease in a pub, and she knows her husband would be disappointed, as he prefers their evenings at home. She respects herself by declining the invitation rather than going along with the throng for fear of not being welcomed.
She does so without fear, since a strong woman understands that acceptance must first and foremost come from inside.
She also respects the decisions made by people who visit the bar, even if she does not agree or approve of them. And because of their choices, she doesn't treat them any differently.

5) Stands Up For What She Believes In - a strong woman is unafraid to stand up for what she believes in, regardless of the repercussions. For example, a woman believes that everyone should be treated equally, regardless of race, colour, creed, sex, or other factors.
A discussion develops in a company board meeting regarding whether to hire a certain applicant who happens to be a mother of two vs another applicant who does not have children. Despite the fact that the mother of two is plainly more qualified, several board members indicate a wish to hire the other applicant because she does not have children.
The powerful woman presents her opinion, which is that the applicant with children is clearly more qualified for the post and should be hired. The powerful woman claims that discriminating against a mother of two in this way is unjust.
When others try to persuade her to change her mind, she refuses. She expresses her belief once more, and she refuses to adopt a manner of thinking or acting that contradicts her essential principles.
6) Inspires Herself And Others - A powerful woman is born with the potential to inspire others. For example, a woman has lately been criticised, and she is replaying the harsh comments in her head.
Rather than accepting others' criticism, she talks to herself about her strengths, talents, and positive qualities. She tells herself to hang in there, that things will get better, just like she would tell someone else who came to her with the same problems.
She doesn't let the criticism she receives from others consume her life or bring her down. Instead of focusing on the negatives, she chooses to focus on the positives and provide herself hope for the future.
7) She Shares Her Strength A powerful lady shares her gifts, talents, skills, and knowledge with others freely. For instance, a woman has created a unique cuisine that is a favourite at many of the social gatherings she attends.
She appreciates the praises and the idea that others anticipate the cuisine she is preparing. It gives her a nice feeling. She basks in the glory of her recipe's success in satisfying others. She'll be asked for the components that make this recipe so special at her next function.
The woman has the option of sharing the secret recipe or keeping it to herself so that her cuisine remains the envy of others. The powerful woman will willingly share because she is confident in the gifts she possesses, which enable her to consistently produce new recipes that people will like.

8) Makes A Difference In Other People's Lives - Every powerful woman possesses this attribute. It's something that every woman secretly wishes to achieve on a daily basis.
It's a quality that comes from following the preceding traits, because if a woman follows the first seven, she'll naturally and simply become the lady who makes a difference in other people's lives.
A businesswoman, for example, comes across a homeless girl on the street. The girl has an unkempt appearance.
Her clothing is ripped, and her hair is tangled. The girl is looking down towards the ground while smoking a cigarette. When the entrepreneur checks her watch, she realises she's running late for work.
Despite this, she turns and approaches the girl. She gives the child $20 to help her with some of her expenses. When she tells the girl that she doesn't have to accept the life she has found herself in, and that with a little work, she can become anybody she wants to be and achieve anything she wants to do, she provides inspiration and words of encouragement.
The businesswoman receives a thank-you card in the mail a year later. A $20 dollar and a business card from the owner of a new boutique are included in the card, which is conveniently located on the same corner where she'd stopped and chatted to the homeless girl.
The entrepreneur smiles on the inside, knowing she did the right thing to make a difference in someone else's life. That is what makes the journey worthwhile for a powerful woman.
